Burbank, CA, October 27, 2003- TVN Entertainment Corporation,
a leading provider of on demand television programming, management
and delivery services, today announced the national launch
of KIDS Unlimited, a Subscription Video-On-Demand
(SVOD) channel targeting children ages 2 to 8, by Charter
Communications.
KIDS Unlimited will offer approximately
30 hours of programming and 70 titles per month. Included
in the service is a broad selection of quality children's
content from familiar providers. TVN recently completed licensing
and distribution agreements with both Scholastic Entertainment
and PBS. Titles from PBS KIDS® include favorites such
as Barney and Friends, Arthur and Teletubbies.
Scholastic Entertainment titles include Chicken Little,
Danny and The Dinosaur, and Sylvester and The Magic
Pebble.
To support acquisition efforts of the KIDS Unlimited
package, TVN will be launching a fully integrated marketing
campaign including cross channel promotions, direct mail,
print, local system incentives and community events. Animated
characters developed specifically for KIDS Unlimited
will be featured on both print and video throughout the campaign.
"As the first broad-scale launch of a non-premium SVOD
service, this is a milestone for TVN and the industry,"
said Bev Doughty, TVN's Senior Vice President of Marketing.
"KIDS Unlimited is just one of the
many ways we are working with our MSO partners to drive new
revenues to the VOD platform."
"Charter is committed to expanding and enhancing the
VOD platform by making innovative programming like KIDS
Unlimited available to our digital customers,"
said Mitch Miller, Charter's Senior Director of On Demand/PPV.
"The combination of quality programming and TVN's comprehensive
marketing support was a key factor in our decision to launch
the service."
